Cocktail: The Event

Having previously celebrated the original “age of excess” with a roaring ’20s-themed affair back in 2013, the Current’s signature Cocktail: The Event moves on to toast a later era of decadence — the wacky, tacky, spandex-clad ’80s. In addition to “age of excess”-themed cocktails crafted by 15 San Antonio bars (Paramour, Haunt and Brooklynite among them) and light bites from a dozen area eateries, the fourth annual event includes a silent auction, live music, DJs and an open invitation unleash your inner child in the DoSeum’s interactive exhibits (don’t miss the musical stairs). With a wild wealth of cinematic and musical inspiration (from Pretty in Pink and Revenge of the Nerds to new wave and glam metal), there’s really no excuse not to enter the ’80s costume contest, judged by local fashion bloggers from Haute in Texas and The sTORIbook.
