Either somebody was trying the old snort-the-coke-off-the-spinning-record-trick, or this 12" needs a good bath.

Remember all those card stock 1/4 page ads from Columbia that would slip out of your Playgirl, advertising 4,776 records for $0.17? Well, they're back and they're working in vinyl!

As records are having their renaissance – your single uncle that sleeps in the garage and spends all his time under his conversion van is looking pretty savvy right about now – even the squares are getting hip to the fact that vinyl records just sound better. Of course, if you're playing them through a portable, plastic turntable with the speaker built into the side (or anything made by Crosley and sold at Target), they don't. But, nevertheless, like the first girl on the block to "blossom" during summer break, their popularity is on the rise.

Owner John Lipmann, who has helped the mail-order company climb out of last August's bankruptcy was quoted in the Wall Street Journal as saying, “You can see a yearning and an interest to try a new format" in millennials and other folks who have heard of real things outside of a 11"x15" computer screen, but never experienced them. Although making up only 7% of the music market, sales for records were up 52% in the first half of 2015, according to the Recording Industry Association of America.

Here's a song on a turntable and what that sounds like (for those who have never experienced it but are now about to start worshiping it and claim that they knew about it way before you knew about it, and that you're not cool, they're the one that's cool).
