Community Forum to Discuss Vista Ridge Pipeline Project
When: Fri., Oct. 24, 6 p.m. 2014
In response to San Antonio city council's upcoming vote on the Vista Ridge pipeline project, several grassroots community organizations have collaborated to host three community discussions on Vista Ridge. The need for these discussions has emerged from a desire to educate ourselves and the communities we live and work in on how Vista Ridge will impact low-income residents, impacted residents of Burleson County, and SAWS's reputation for conservation. Despite SAWS's assertion that it has held multiple community input sessions on the project, most of the communities we live and work have learned about Vista Ridge only recently, if at all. In addition to community members, we would like to invite media and elected officials to attend any one of these discussions and listen directly to SAWS ratepayers. Many of the residents attending these discussions were not able to attend the public hearing on Vista Ridge and will not be able to attend the council meeting on October 30th, but these discussions will provide an alternate venue for residents to voice their questions and concerns.
