Curator-Led Gallery Talk: Luisa Roldan

Join Chrissy Zappella, Blanton Fellow of European Art, for an in-depth conversation in the European gallery about the Blanton’s newly-conserved sculpture of “The Education of the Virgin” by Spanish Baroque artist Luisa Roldán. Chrissy will reveal her post-conservation discoveries and discuss the historical and cultural importance of the sculpture, which was made by one of the world’s earliest — and arguably greatest — female sculptors. Chrissy is a specialist in Renaissance and Baroque art and most recently joins the Blanton from The Art Institute of Chicago, where she was a curatorial fellow in the Department of European Paintings. The event is free with museum admission.
