Texans have the opportunity to take part in early voting this week in the May runoff elections.

Beginning Monday, San Antonians can vote from one of 38 polling locations throughout Bexar County from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. through Friday.

Voters who took part in the March 6 primaries must vote within the same party in the runoffs. If you skipped out on the primaries, you're still eligible to vote and can do so with either party.

Now, down to the major races: Democrats will vote either Andrew White or Lupe Valdez to face Governor Greg Abbott in November. White is a businessman in Houston and the son of the late Governor Mark White. Valdez is the former sheriff of Dallas County.

Meanwhile, Republicans will vote in the Bexar County GOP Chair race between Cynthia Brehm and Jo Ann Ponce Gonzalez. For Bexar County Commissioner, Paul Elizondo is defending his seat in Precent 2 against Queta Rodriguez.

In the 23rd Congressional District, Democrats will choose who will go up against Rep. Will Hurd in November: Gina Ortiz Jones or Rick Treviño.

Rep. Lamar Smith's seat in the 21st Congressional District is up for grabs. Republicans can choose to nominate either Mat McCall or Chip Roy, while Democrats will nominate Joseph Kopser or Mary Wilson.

Also retiring is Joe Straus, who represents San Antonio. Steve Allison and Matt Beebe are facing off for the GOP nomination.

On the elections website, you'll be able to check your voter registration and polling location, see a sample ballot and view polling location information.

If you can't make it to early voting this week, Election Day is May 22.
