El Cuerpo Mio is a feminist fueled series symbolizing self-ownership over the feminine domain. Bright, and bold succulents create a declaration to the viewer of the propriety a woman has over self. Inspired by her Chicana Catholic upbringing, Arangua incorporates images of milagros into her work as a soulful offering for the sacred feminine. As a cactus thorn may “pica” an unwelcome touch, so too do her images guard the divine feminine of their subjects. Hands off, do not touch one's body is their own. Jessica Jones, Tiffany Trowbridge & Isa Luz will feature work as well.
