San Antonio is as obsessed with Nawlins culture as ever
and we can celebrate Mardi Gras with native New Orleans
once more with the second El Mardi Gras block party on
February 11 from 1-7 p.m. Held last February in advance of Mardi Gras 2017, El Mardi Gras is put on by Susan and Pieter Sypesteyn of NOLA Brunch & Beignets, The Cookhouse and their nonprofit Third Coast Charities. Like last year, the event will bring together area chefs in celebrating the cuisine of the bayou with Sypesteyn repping Cookhouse, Jeff Balfour of Southerleigh, and Chris Cullum of Attagirl among some of the chefs slated to return. The festival will include food vendors, art vendors, beer and daiquiris and Zydeco music (obviously). Though the event is free to attend, VIP tickets area available for $75 with “exclusive food and beverages in the VIP area along
with comfortable seating and indoor restrooms” per the
event’s website.
