Enjoy Frozen Cocktails at these 9 SA Spots

I can think of 100 things I want to do instead of dealing with another 100-degree heat day. Spoiler alert: several of these involve booze.

There are a few things more refreshing than frozen beverages. We've already dabbled in boozy slushies, and frozen moscato, but what if you're not into breaking out the blender or making a mess? Then head to any one of these joints that feature ice-cold concoctions filled with plenty of booze to cool you down.  Lee's Taco Garage
8403 Broadway, (210) 826-4405

What's better than one margarita? A whole flight of mini, multi-flavored margaritas, naturally. Available in V6, V12 and V16, these mini margs area available in amaretto, grape, watermelon, cranberry, Shock Tart, grapefruit, chamoy, sangria and loads more. Conduct your very own tasting panel just for S & Gs.

The Pigpen
106 Pershing Ave., (210) 267-9136

As if we couldn't love The Pigpen more, the bar and patio recently launched frozen beverages. You'll love the frozen margaritas, sure, but the mule is potent enough to sway you in its direction. Come Sunday morning, the brunch specials include a frozen tequila sunrise and an Arnold Palmer, which pair well with the soul food brunch buffet.

Aldaco's Mexican Cuisine

If you add avocado to your margarita, it means it's healthy, right? I'm going to say yes. With half an avocado added into a frozen marg, you're loading up on good fats while enjoying Aldaco's awesome patios at whichever location you choose.

Slackers
Multiple locations, slackerssa.com

You're already living your youth while at Slackers whilst playing throwback arcade games and Wii, so it's not that big of leap to add playful, frozen drinks to the equation. The Rector location features a frozen drink bar upstairs, but the new Nacogdoches Slackers also carries a frozen menu. Offerings vary but you'll find hard lemonade, spicy margaritas, hurricanes and Cherry Garcia flavors all served in cute Mason jars. They help you cool down after a lively game of Super Shot.

Rumble
2410 N. St. Mary's St., (210) 365-3246

An ode to San Anto flavors with a craft cocktail twist, the Some Great Reward at Rumble combines Martinique rum, mango, chamoy and lime for a refreshingly potent sipper.

Chacho's
Multiple locations, chachos.com

Jack and Coke — essentially one of the first one-and-one's we all imbibe at the start of our drinking careers — can be especially comforting and nostalgic. At Chacho's, you can grab a large pour of this grown-up ICEE, an order of chicken fajita nachos and that creamy green salsa for the start — or end to — a great night.

Texas Hofbrau
Multiple locations, txhofbrau.com

Variety is the spice of life. At Texas Hofbrau, you can dip all sorts of booze into more booze. Keep it classic with a Dos-a-rita, or mix it up with Dreamsicle Bomb Pop or a Yellow Rose (magarita meets Shiner Bock), or Paradise Rita (marg meets pineapple Jarritos). The combinations are nearly endless.

Mash'D at the Rim
17623 La Cantera Pkwy., (210) 538-5833

The Illegal Endeavor should be treated with respect. A combination of moonshine sangria and margarita topped with blueberry moonshine floater, this drink is a steal for happy hour, but make sure to load up on snacks before and after you drink one.

Palenque Grill
Multiple locations, palenquegrill.com

The Laredo-based Palenque Grill serves up mango 'ritas in both full-size and shot form. Enjoy them with street tacos, parrilladas or on their own at their Sonterra or La Cantera locations.
