The ever-popular Fiesta Hat Contest and Luncheon returns for the 23rd year. Participants enjoy a delicious lunch, silent auction, raffle and a rip-snorting competition of prize winning hats in several categories: Most Beautiful, Garden Party, Spirit of Fiesta, Glitz and Glam, Vintage, Men's Hats and many more.
Proceeds from the event provide scholarships for local students and contribute to the restoration of the historic landmark mansion that houses The Woman's Club. The house was once owned by Mr. D.J. Woodward, the first Fiesta King Selamat (tamales spelled backwards), in 1904. Rich in history and tradition, The Woman's Club of San Antonio celebrates its 117th anniversary this year. They are a charter member of the Fiesta Commission and have dedicated themselves through the years toward the mutual improvement and cooperation in all that pertains to the greater good of humanity.
