Firehouse Chats Series- A Panel Discussion on Literacy’s Impact

Each One Teach One San Antonio, is partnering with Honeycomb, a new San Antonio organization dedicated to supporting high impact small and mid-sized non-profits through philanthropy. They are coming together to introduce “Firehouse Chats”, an innovative concept in the discussion of issues important to the San Antonio community. The first official event in the series will tackle the issue of adult literacy and the state of philanthropy in San Antonio. This issue is urgent in San Antonio as one in four San Antonio adults are functionally illiterate. The city has a 40% high school dropout rate, and English as a Second Language (ESL) programs are unable to meet the demand for their services. Food and drinks will be served. Parking is free. There will be live music and internet streaming of the event.
