First Course: Fundraiser at The Monty and a Jordan wine dinner at The Granary and more

Mexican is what's for lunch. Rosario's North (9715 San Pedro) will start offering lunch specials under $10 on weekdays from 11 to 3 p.m. The lunch specials include fajitas, puffy tacos, enchiladas and chicken chipotle with vegetarian and gluten free options. There's also new happy hour specials on weekdays from 4 to 7 p.m. with house margaritas and wine, sangria, draft beer and Patrón on tap. Appetizers like mini flautas, quesadillas, ceviche and guacamole are $5.

Wine is on the menu at Market on Houston (205 E Houston) with a Pedernales Cellars wine dinner on Friday, July 25 at 6:30 p.m. The four course menu is serving chilled grilled shrimp, wild arugula with summer melons and a key lime vinaigrette, beef tenderloin trifecta and blackberry cobbler with wine pairings. The dinner is 65 per person. Call (210) 554-1721 for reservations.

A family-style BBQ benefit will be at The Monterey (1127 S St. Mary's) on Sunday, July 27 from 6:30 to 10 p.m. The $20 BBQ will have live music, a silent art auction and dessert from Bakery Lorraine. The benefit is for Barbaro's bookkeeper Donna Lyons who was diagnosed with cancer in February. Donations will also be accepted at The Monterey, Barbaro, Bakery Lorraine and Hot Joy.

Flat Creek Estate Winery and Vineyard is having a rustic wine dinner at The Enoteca (112 US Hwy 281) on Thursday, July 31 at 7 p.m. A chef selected flights and bites appetizer will be followed by a three course dinner served family style. Tickets are $45 per person.

The Granary 'Cue and Brew (602 Avenue A) is hosting a Jordan wine dinner with wine from Jordan Winery of California on Monday, August 4 at 7 p.m. The six course menu will be accompanied by chardonnay and cabernet sauvignon vintages and the food will be prepared with produce from the winery. Seats are $150 per person.
