Flamenco in the Park

Billed as a “monumental initiative” built around gastronomy, music and dance, and art and architecture, Pearl’s summer-long Tricentennial program Olé imports a talented array of Spanish chefs, performers and artists to “celebrate, collaborate, and explore San Antonio’s 300-year connection to Spain.” While brimming with ticketed events and dinners at Pearl Stable, Cured, Hotel Emma, The Granary and Southerleigh Fine Food & Brewery ($25-$150), the series also features a number of offerings that are free and open to the public. Among the first arrivals is Primitivo Daza, a Madrid-based flamenco dancer, actor and opera star celebrated for his work with the National Dance Company of Spain. Promising to “share the soul of Spain with San Antonio,” Daza’s free performance in Pearl Park features support from a company comprising five musicians and three dancers.

Sinya on Lone Man Creek in Wimberley
“Absolutely perfect weekend getaway! We were worried that it might be too hot inside the tent, as both my husband and I love our room cold, but it was perfect around 70 degrees…especially in the summer. Bed was very comfortable and you could just sink in and sleep. I slept so deeply. It is a beautiful, serene place to stay and I could not recommend it more!” - Yelper Larissa I
