Quit your whining!
All the wine enthusiasts who mourned when February passed without the annual San Antonio Express-News Wine Festival can remove their black armbands and veils: The festival isn't gone, it just moved down the calendrical block. Apparently, February is already over-populated with wine-related events, such as Valentine's Day, the Super Bowl, and, of course, Groundhog Day, collectively hoarding all the good weekends.
The Wine Opener will be held April 1, 7-9:30 p.m., and the Champagne Brunch April 3, 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m., both at the Sheraton Gunter Hotel. Finally, The Fine Wine and Cuisine tasting closes out the festival on April 3, from 6-8:30 p.m. Tickets for the Wine Opener are $100, $60 for the Champagne Brunch, and $40-45 for the Fine Wine and Cuisine Tasting. Joy-buzzers not included.

V bar, located in the Hotel Valencia Riverwalk, is hosting the "V bar Party for a Cure" on April 2 at 7 p.m. The proceeds from all drinks sold between 7-9 p.m. go to the San Antonio affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Foundation to support the fight against breast cancer. In addition to live music and drink specials, there will also be a silent auction to benefit the Komen Foundation, with lots including hotel stays in San Antonio, Houston, and Austin, and tickets to Sea World, local theater events, and Schlitterbahn. Spring ushers in showers, flowers, and new lunch hours for CEBU: Thursday through Monday, from noon-3 p.m., and walk-ins are welcome. The spring lunch and dinner menu includes a pork loin with caramalized sweet cebuaño onions, tiger shrimp and Phillipine squash bouillabaisse with tumeric, pan-grilled chicken breast with seared vegetables, and seared coriander salmon and shrimp served with a green mango nectar reduction.
