SOLI Chamber Ensemble wraps up its season with For the End of Time: A New Beginning – a live broadcast from the Malú and Carlos Alvarez Theater at Texas Public Radio featuring Olivier Messiaen’s iconic Quartet for the End of Time. Messiaen wrote the work for clarinet, violin, cello and piano while imprisoned during World War II and this broadcast commemorates the 80th anniversary of its premiere in 1941 in a prisoner-of-war camp in Görlitz, Germany. The performance also includes Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Aaron Jay Kernis’ Elegy for those we lost.
