Gemini Ink Autograph Series with Terrance Hayes

For this year’s Autograph Series, literary arts organization Gemini Ink presents a public reading and Q&A with poet Terrance Hayes, the 2010 National Book Award winner (for his collection Lighthead) and a 2014 MacArthur Fellow. A prolific wordsmith, Hayes has published eight collections of poetry since his debut in 1999, and will release his latest book in September, an adaptation of a series of lectures entitled To Float in the Space Between: A Life and Work in Conversation with the Life and Work of Etheridge Knight. Highly praised by both critics and fellow authors, Hayes’ poetry has been described as “invincibly restless wordplay at the service of strong emotions,” as his musical style and careful grasp of language tap into a deeper human truth.
