Ground Control Touring
Spirit Adrift sound like a project that maybe the late Cliff Burton would’ve fronted after leaving Metallica because of Lars’ bullshit. The similarities to Metallica’s old work is a little eerie, and while these dudes sound like they grew up on Metallica’s catalog (as well as a number of other metal acts from the late ’70s and ’80s), the singer sounds nothing like James Hetfield and there are enough moments of experimental noises and echoes to give them their own identity. Old school? Yea. But isn’t that where metal is again?
