Giuseppe Ielasi & Micheala Grill

Release Date: 2007-12-12

Italian musician Giuseppe Ielasi (Milan) joins Austrian video artist Micheala Grill (Vienna) for an improvised performance of music and video art. Ielasi has worked for years in improvised music circles, fostering long-term collaborations; most recently, his focus has shifted to site-specific solo performances, using guitars as his primary sound sources by integrating microphones and multi-channel speaker systems. On the visual end, Grill deconstructs footage of urban, and sometimes natural, environments to create minimalist abstractions. Her video work has been featured at various festivals and she regularly collaborates with musicians. San Antonio’s Potter-Belmar Labs opens with a set of improvised abstract cinema. $8, 8pm, Salon Mijangos, 1906 S. Flores, (210) 212-9147.
