Gregg Popovich Sports Beto O'Rourke Hat at Spurs Practice Facility on Last Day of Early Voting

Nearly a month after Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said Beto O'Rourke should run for president as Gregg Popovich as his running mate, the Spurs coach has publicly thrown his support behind the U.S. Senate candidate.

During practice today, Popovich was seen sporting a "BETO" cap at the Spurs' practice facility. Though the longtime coach has yet to publicly back O'Rourke, his solid stance in his political opinions makes it pretty clear that Popovich doesn't give out support lightly. Popovich's support of O'Rourke comes on the last day of early voting, and just days before Election Day on Tuesday, Nov. 6. Some polls now have O'Rourke trailing incumbent U.S. Senator Ted Cruz by as little as three points.

Coach Pop's silent support of O'Rourke, which should come as no surprise considering his criticism of President Donald Trump, comes a month after Kerr said Popovich should join O'Rourke in the White House. Last year, fans were advocating for a Kerr/Popovich presidential ticket in 2020.
