The rental market in San Antonio is getting tougher with new commercial developments in several areas, and San Antonians are feeling it.

Rent Jungle, an apartment cost compare site, the average price of a one-bedroom apartment in San Antonio averages at about $828 per month, compared to the average of $598 in 2009. Since were not (yet) seeing the same rent spikes in close-by cities such as Austin, $1,000 can still get you a somewhat decent size apartment in San Antonio.
