CANCELED. Remember that awesome combo of ballet and hip-hop moves from Save the Last Dance? Dance troupe Hiplet Ballerinas has toured the world executing just that fusion. Created in the early ’90s by artistic director Homer Hans Bryant, Hiplet Ballerinas’ trademark moves pull from a variety of styles including en pointe, popping and locking, beat-boxing, tango and more — all accompanied by music spanning from Tchaikovsky to Beyoncé. After going viral on social media a few years back, the company has strutted its stuff for Old Navy, Mercedes-Benz and New York Fashion Week, and now it’s coming to San Antonio to show us exactly what it’s got going on.
