Trained as a furniture maker/designer, locally based artist and UTSA grad student Roberto Celis unveils an MFA thesis exhibition inspired by “his passion for chairs to create provocative new forms.” According to Celis, “A chair is similar to the human body in both form and structure, and can be thought of as an analogue for the individual; they seem inviting and we trust and use them without question; but this connection also has the potential to be subversive.”
