Thanks to the spectacular and undersung initiatives of Musical Bridges Around the World — a San Antonio non-profit that looks to use performance and visual arts programming as vessels in which audiences can be gently (but effectively) ferried across cultural divides — jazz fans are in for a real treat this weekend. As a part of the larger fifth annual International Music Festival, which your ticket to this event would get you full access to, MBAW will present a unique, cross-cultural dialogue of sorts, in musical form. For the first time, the newly formed Sister City International Jazz Ensemble, comprised of players from all over the world, representing almost all of SA’s 10-plus Sister and Friendship Cities, will perform a one of a kind live set.
