Jamie Foxx

Release Date: 2009-09-23

Noticing that female comics took priority onstage, native Texan Eric Marlon Bishop paid homage to Red Foxx and changed his name to gender unspecific Jamie Foxx. After establishing himself on the stand-up circuit, Foxx joined the television show In Living Color, which also helped launch the careers of Rosie Perez and Jennifer Lopez. Foxx then went on to star in his own sitcom, The Jamie Foxx Show, which aired from 1996 to 2001. A musician at heart (he began playing the piano at age 5), Foxx has recorded three studio albums and collaborated with some of the biggest names in the business (he channeled Ray Charles for the chorus of Kanye West’s “Gold Digger”). In 2005, Foxx joined Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, and Barbara Streisand on the very short list of stars with both a number-one album on the Billboard charts (2005’s Unpredictable) and an Academy Award for acting (2004’s Ray). $41.75-$61.75, 7:30pm, AT&T Center, One AT&T Center,
