Sorry, San Antonians, but it doesn’t look like Julian Castro will join Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential ticket.

The Secretary of Housing and Urban Development piqued the interest of Washington D.C. after he spoke at the Democratic National Convention in 2012. Since the minute he stepped down as mayor of San Antonio in May 2014, media has speculated that he may be vetted as a possible vice president for Clinton. This partnership may have helped Clinton appeal to young voters and hispanics.

But when CNN asked the former mayor if he would accept a position as Clinton’s running mate, Castro answered, “That’s not going to happen.”

According to Castro, Clinton’s campaign hasn’t even contacted him about the position.

Some possible vice presidential candidates for Clinton, according to The New York Times, include Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown, Secretary of Labor Thomas E. Perez and Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren.

But as of yet, Clinton's not showing her cards.
