King of Tex-Mex Rock 'N' Roll Joe King Carrasco Returns to San Antonio

Known as the King of Tex-Mex rock’n’roll, Joe King Carrasco creates a stylistic borderland of pop rock and Latin rhythms performing original hits from over 24 albums. He plays everything from country to rock & roll, tequila-soaked reggae to the sped-up polka that eventually became nueva wave. Heavily influenced by the sounds of Sir Douglas Quintet and Sunny Ozuna, Carrasco has taken their Tex-Mex formula and done something really unique.

Also on the bill are the Nashville-based Eclectica, who blend a unique mix of jazz, country and classical music for a combo not often heard at spaces like Sam’s.

$12-$50, Thu March 15, 7pm, Sam’s Burger Joint, 330 E. Grayson St., (210) 223-2830, samsburgerjoint.com.
