Kountry Wayne

It might’ve taken a little “soul searching” for him to realize a career in the music industry wasn’t in the cards, but when comedian Kountry Wayne saw that he could make people laugh, he knew he had found his calling. Originally from Millen, Georgia, Wayne, who considers himself a humble guy looking to leave behind a “faith-based legacy,” will grace the Laugh Out Loud stage with his brand of stand-up for four consecutive nights. Incredibly active on Instagram, Wayne has garnered over a million followers who come to his social-media site to listen to him do things like sing along to gospel music while driving, eat vegan ice cream and cake and urge his male followers to “strap on twice” if they don’t plan on being a good dad. Wayne has eight children of his own from five different women and is open about his extended family. Fairly new to the game (he uploaded his first video to the web in 2014), Wayne’s online presence is evident. In one sketch, Wayne asks his friend if he’s trying to kill him by serving him inedible chicken and rice prepared by his white girlfriend. Let’s hope Wayne’s comedy is a lot more flavorsome.

Chicken-on-a-Stick
Fiesta favorite chicken-on-a-stick is basically the supreme food booth snack from all of Fiesta. San Antonians look forward to eating it all year, and usually commemorate their first chicken-on-a-stick of the season with a selfie. It’s inspired chicken-on-a-stick necklaces, earrings, stickers and more from local designers, and has appeared on menus across SA so folks can get their fix. Thank goodness for that.
