Laurie Ann Guerrero Book Launch

San Antonio Poet Laureate Laurie Ann Guerrero was born and raised right here in the Alamo City. On the Southside of San Anto, images of daily curiosity, smells and scraps of multiple cultures, rhythms of struggle and satisfaction, and the long unhinged laughter of survival lodged themselves in her memory. And, in diction thick as lengua, rich as menudo and light as the hull of an empty piñata, she has bared her soul, and the soul of our city, to the world. Now, she invites us to celebrate the release of A Crown for Gumecindo, a new collection dedicated to her grandfather.
