The Lucky Odds
Friday, January 6

May the Lucky Odds ever be in your favor. A trio of greasy bobbers and rat rods from San Antonio, their rockabilly sound shreds through the dusty southwest like the rotating blades of Leatherface’s bloody chainsaw. Armed with nothing but thumping bass lines, twangy electric guitar slides and a trusty drum kit, the happed-up band reprises the hip rolling raunchiness of Bill Haley’s undying “Rock Around the Clock.” Nuclear Juarez echoes the Lucky Odds’ spartan instrumentation, breathing new life the campy flair of psychobilly rockers like the voodoo-inspired Cramps. Rounding out the swingin’ lineup is Pavel Demon and the Revenant. Throwing back to the basics, this wild night of rhythm and blues begs a certain question – you feeling lucky? 9:30pm, Free, The Bang Bang Bar, 119 El Mio Dr — AM
