Unless Donald Trump figures out a way to erect his big, beautiful, Mexico-funded wall on the border before this weekend, musical comedy trio Los Tres Tristes Tigres (say that three times fast) shouldn’t have a problem making their way to the Alamo City from their hometown of Monterrey, Nuevo León, to share their interactive brand of humor with a San Antonio audience — from original songs and parodies to monologues and sketch performances. In one of their corridos, “La Jaula de Trump” (a spin on Los Tigres del Norte’s “La Jaula de Oro”), Tigres members Pedro Palacios (guitar, lead vocals), Jesús Gallardo (accordion) and Erick Ibarra (bass), sing about their disappointment with the 2016 election of Trump, imagine the wall that the president wants to construct and wonder how they will be able to forget Wal-Mart and Disneyland when they are deported. Not everything the Mexicomedians sing about, however, is political. They also take the classic Spanish birthday song “Las Mañanitas” and rewrite it as “Mañanitas Fresas,” an ode to preppy, upper-class Mexicans. “Que te la pases de poca / En tu party super cool.”
