Lunch and Learn: "Compositions in Space: Architectural Interventions"
When: Fri., June 3, 12-1 p.m. 2016
As the City of San Antonio continues its quest to get more artsy, we all win, as we get to enjoy more and more delightful exhibitions/installations in public spaces. One such exhibition is the Department for Culture and Creative Development’s “Compositions in Space: Architectural Interventions,” on view through June 24. The unique exhibit features installations by six artists in the Creative Commons Exhibit Hall at Plaza de Armas. Each of these installations reimagines the architectural space in which it exists, highlighting some elements, obscuring others, and generally challenging the viewer to consider our interactions with (and expectations of) the spaces we inhabit and move through. On Friday, for a special treat, check out the Lunch and Learn event, which will feature a panel discussion, including some of the artists as well as Irby Hightower of Alamo Architects, moderated by Councilman Roberto Treviño. Attendees are asked to RSVP at [email protected] and box lunches will be available for only $5.
