Manu Ginobili Posts Throwback Photo From Life Before the Spurs

Manu Ginobili threw it way back in his latest Instagram post.

On Sunday, Ginobili, 41, shared a photo of his full-head-of-hair self from 20 years ago. It was taken before his first practice with a team in Italy, Basket Viola Reggio Calabria. The then-21-year-old had left his native Argentina to start a career in Europe.

The longtime Spur said in the caption that he was excited to play in Europe.
That means this was pre-Spurs Ginobili. He wouldn't be drafted by the Spurs until about a year later. Ginobili, who has seemingly played in San Antonio since the beginning of time, was the 57th overall pick of the 1999 NBA Draft. He didn't actually make his debut in SA until 2002, spending those few years playing in Italy.

Ginobili has yet to confirm whether he's retiring or coming back for another season. He has a year left on the two-year, $5 million contract he signed in August 2017.

The latest buzz is that Ginobili is expected to make a decision sometime this week. Thankfully, experts say it's likely Ginobili will keep on balling.
