SA Film Slam

Part of the National Association of Latino Independent Producers’ “San Antonio Film Series,” the SLAM is a celebration of independent film and a competition in which Texas indie producers can present their work to peers and judges. A panel of judges will offer feedback for each film and select the top two. The films screen Friday, April 21, Ruta Maya Coffee House, 107 E. Martin. $5 general; $3 for submitting filmmakers. DecalogUe 9: Thou Shalt Not Covet Thy Neighbor’s Wife

This spring, Sundays at the Instituto de México are dedicated to showing Kieslowsky’s films with a message, each title inspired by one of the Ten Commandments. Decalogue 9 explores the nature of jealousy with an impotent man who encourages his wife to take a lover. 4 p.m. Sunday, April 23, 600 Hemisfair Park. Spanish subtitles. $2 suggested donation.
