Krzysztof Kieslowski (1989)

The last of Kieslowski’s 10 films based on the Ten Commandments, Decalogue 10 is a dark comedy that reveals the error of valuing materials possessions over family. The story begins when two brothers inherit their father’s valuable stamp collection. 4 p.m. Sunday, April 30, at the Instituto de México, 600 Hemisfair Park. Spanish subtitles. $2 suggested donation.

Mohammed Alatar (2006)

On April 26, Palestinians for Peace and Democracy and the University of the Incarnate Word Chapter of Amnesty International will screen The Iron Wall and lead a discussion about current issues. After showing his film arguing that Israeli settlement expansion and the West Bank wall destroys the peace process, Alatar will be available for questions. 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, in the Library Auditorium, University of Incarnate Word, 4301 Broadway. Free.

Rick Tejada-Flores and Ray Telles (2005)

An elegantly blunt look at race in America, Race is the Place is a documentary featuring contemporary artists, poets, rappers, and stand-up comedians who wittily lambaste stereotypes and discrimination. A discussion about film and racism will follow the screening. 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, at Our Lady of the Lake University, 411 SW 24th Street. Free. Dinner provided.

The Ultimate Drum Corps Cinema Showdown

Twelve drum corps from four decades battle it out across time and space in this film-music event. The countdown will be simulcast in movie theaters across the country. 7 p.m. Thursday, April 27, at participating Regal, Cinemark, and AMC theaters. For a complete listing and ticket prices:
