A chapter from Kieslowski’s film series influenced by the Ten Commandments, Decalogue 8 portrays the effects of deep-seated hatred. The story follows a Jewish-American Holocaust survivor who returns to Poland to confront the woman who refused to help her escape the Nazis. 4 p.m. Sunday, April 16, at the Instituto de México, 600 Hemisfair Park. Spanish subtitles. $2 suggested donation.

Beyond Good and Evil: Children, Media & Violent Times

The peaceCENTER will screen Beyond Good and Evil for their April Second Sunday Film. Through interviews with media scholars, child psychiatrists, and children, the documentary reveals the potentially disastrous effects of media violence on children. 6 p.m. Sunday, April 16, at the peaceCENTER, 1443 S. St. Mary’s. Free.
