More Awards For Ranger Creek Brewing & Distilling

  • American Craft Spirits Association

San Anto-made Ranger Creek Brewing & Distilling (4834 Whirlwind Drive) took a trip up I-35 on Valentine's Day weekend and picked up a few awards during this year's American Craft Spirits Association convention and trade show. And not just any ol' award,f Best of Show to be exact, for the distillery's .36 Single Barrel Straight Texas Bourbon Whiskey. Only 1,400 bottles were made of the spirit.

The win dethroned last year's winner, and fellow Texan distiller, Balcones Distilling.

The Whirlwind Drive-based brewstillery, co-founded by Mark McDavid, Dennis Rylander and head distiller TJ Miller,  took home another gold for the Ranger Creek .36 Texas Bourbon Whiskey and a silver medal for the Ranger Creek .44 Texas Rye Whiskey.

To celebrate the wins, Ranger Creek will host a #WhiskeySelfie contest from March 7 to April 30. The winner of this bundle will take home 14 bottles of Ranger Creek .36 single-barrel bottles that will include one bottle from each barrel used. The brewstillery will open its doors 2-6 p.m. on Saturday, March 14 for beer and whiskey tastings, live music, food trucks and more.
