More Free Stuff! La Madeleine Celebrates Julia Child's B-Day

In honor of JC — that's Julia Child, naturally — French countryside-inspired chain La Madeleine will offer one free mini chocolate tart per customer on Tuesday, August 11. The catch is pronouncing the following at the counter: "Joyeux Anniversaire, Julia Child!"

The chain, launched by founder Patrick Esquerre, often tapped the renowned cook for her love of all things French.

The freebie will be available at all participating locations this Tuesday, but don't forget to celebrate Child's actual birthday on August 15.
