Richard Kogan, M.D., a Harvard-trained psychiatrist and Juilliard-trained concert pianist, is renowned for piano concert-lectures exploring the influence of mental illness and other psychological factors on the creative output of famous composers. In this concert-lecture, Dr. Kogan focuses on how Frederic Chopin responded to extreme psychological challenges through constructive application of his musical genius. A catered reception will precede this free event, which is part of the Ewing Halsell Distinguished Lecture series.
