The award-winning comedian has been making the late-night television rounds for a while, and he’s currently surfing a new wave of popularity brought on by the premiere of his first Netflix special, The Tennessee Kid. His self-deprecating humor is a welcome breath of fresh air amid the litany of whiny, bigoted dudebros like Shane McGillis, who was fired four days after being cast on Saturday Night Live when a deluge of his online racist diatribes came to light. So far, it appears that Bargatze lacks such “skeletons in the podcast archive,” so it’s safe to head to the Empire and enjoy his friendly, low-key vibe.
