Hillary Clinton is coming to Texas. But she’s staying north of San Antonio.

Clinton, the former secretary of state, will hold fundraisers in Austin and Dallas as she swings through Texas on Wednesday, June 3 and Thursday, June 4.

Clinton is the odds-on favorite to win the Democratic presidential nomination. Her only competition so far is Bernie Sanders, the socialist senator from Vermont.

Clinton cut some of her political teeth in Texas on the presidential campaign of Sen. George McGovern, D-SD, in 1972. She and her husband, former President Bill Clinton, campaigned throughout the state for McGovern, and registered voters in the Rio Grande Valley, according to the Texas Tribune.

Although Clinton won’t hit San Antonio on this trip, this probably won’t be her last visit to Texas before the state’s Democratic primary, scheduled for March 1.

Plus, it couldn’t hurt to get an up-close look at the hometown of her possible running mate, Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julian Castro’s hometown. Castro, the former mayor of San Antonio, has been floated as a potential vice presidential pick for months.

Clinton’s campaign treasurer, attorney Jose H. Villareal, is also from San Antonio.
