Mrs. Audrea Adams, 102 years old, raised in Mexico, contributes her personal history to the Museo Alameda’s African Presence in Mexico: From Yanga to the Present with an appearance at 11 a.m., Wednesday, February 18. The exhibition tells the largely unexamined story of the history and culture of the African diaspora south of the border through customs, rituals, costumes, music, and art. Mrs. Adams’ appearance is sponsored in partnership with the Carver Cultural Center, a sponsor of the show and related forums and cultural events throughout the spring.
