In the report first obtained by KSAT, district police officers were dispatched to Charles C. Ball Academy on a call about a mother who had allegedly attacked a teacher in the parking lot after school.
In the police report, the unidentified first grade teacher told officers that she was monitoring students during dismissal at the school's main entrance when a student's parent, Sabrina Angel, walked up to her. According to the report, Angel yelled, "No one is going to put hands on my kid. You put your hands on my child. You slapped my child."
A witness told officers that Angel yelled that it "would be the last [time] she would touch a child."
According to News4SanAntonio, the woman continued yelling and cussing at the teacher before striking her. Angel reportedly started punching the teacher "about three to four times," although the teacher, who has been with the district for eight years, tried to "protect herself." The teacher said she tried to escape by going inside the school, but that Angel followed her and continued hitting her.
News4SanAntonio reports that SAISD investigated Angel's allegations but "found no evidence that this teacher engaged in any wrongdoing." It's unknown, however, when the investigation took place.
According to KSAT, SAISD police are filing charges against Angel with District Attorney Nico LaHood's office. Angel will face an assault on a public servant causing bodily injury charge, which is a third-degree felony. Additionally, the school's principal, Gregory Rivers, placed a criminal trespass warning on Angel.
It's unknown if Angel will press charges against the teacher or school.
