After seven months of a sad, pollo-less existence, Pollos Asados Los Norteños is back in the game.

Owner Frank Garcia says the grill room has been outfitted with the necessary equipment that'll help scrub smoke and lessen its impact on neighbors and their homes.

The restaurant's new $350,000 worth of improvements mean they're in line with requirements set by the Texas Attorney General’s Office, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality and the city of San Antonio.

Pollos opened 12 years ago inside a small trailer and became known for its juicy, flavorful and relatively inexpensive half chickens, served with rice, grilled onion, an addictive green table sauce and speedy service that made those increasing wait times worth it.

Pollos will reopen at 10 a.m. for its first day back, and resume normal operating hours (11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday).
