If Prophets and Outlaws frontman Matt Boggs didn’t grow up listening to soul and R&B, it’d be pretty surprising, judging by the way that boy can belt out rich textured vocal melodies that pair perfectly with the rustic country music him and his band play. It’s got a similar vibe to, dare I say, Gavin Degraw minus the overkill of Degraw that saturated radio in the mid-aughts (glad that’s over). Anyway, these Dallas guys have got an interesting sound and if you dig, soul, R&B, country and Americana, these guys pretty much have you covered.
