Revolución Coffee + Juice, a group of plant-based coffee shops owned by entrepreneurs Manny and Angie Carral, will open a new location at The Rim.
The new spot, located at 5846 Worth Parkway, Bldg. 1, Ste. 109, is projected to open during the first half of 2020.
"What we want to do is bring better food and beverage options to more customers and support a balanced lifestyle," said co-owner Manny Carral. "We're partnering with
Tru Fusion, a new gym next door, so it should be a good fit and give us exposure to a whole new customers base we don't have access to now."
Like other Revolución shops, the space will offer craft coffee, cold-pressed juices and healthy options like acai and pitaya bowls. However, patrons can expect to see more fresh, made-to-order foods like grain bowls and salads, as well as a selection of wines and beer on tap, with options to upgrade their beverages with juice. The new shop will also open a rooftop deck for events.
"We're expecting more of a later crowd at The Rim, so people can come in later and have some drinks," Manny added.
The Rim location will also lead Revolución's move to in-house coffee roasting, using ventless, zero-emissions coffee roasters to serve sustainable and eco-friendly coffee.
"That's a big step for us," he added. "Maybe once we have that up and running, we can incorporate more of those things at the other locations.
Revolución is poised for major growth in the coming years, with plans to open four additional locations throughout San Antonio by 2025.
The couple opened the first Revolución in Alamo Heights as a healthy, juice-friendly business in 2012, and branched outside SA with a Houston location in 2016. The company opened a second San Antonio location, this time on Houston Street, in 2018.
