River Walk

One of the glories of the Works Progress Administration, this world-famous site's had its ups and downs for locals; from beautiful dining and drinking spot to run-down 'n' dirty to a recent period we like to call the Hooter's era, in which no self-respecting San Antonian would hang out there. But an avalanche of new river development is soon to usher in a glden age of much-needed public space, a 13-mile linear park linking the headwaters with the afore-discussed missions, with world-class public art and many nooks in which to linger. We're psyched.
