Rob Thomas Coming to the Majestic Theatre on April 14

Matchbox Twenty’s Rob Thomas (the singer and writer of Santana’s megahit “Smooth”) will perform at the Majestic Theatre (224 E. Houston) on Monday, April 14. Tickets ($49.50-$100) go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, January 17, and you can buy them here.

It will be a special intimate performance by the man who earned four Grammy nominations as the frontman of Matchbox Twenty. The band’s hit “Bent,” included in Mad Season (2000), peaked at number one in Billboard’s Hot 100, Pop, and Adult Pop Songs charts.

In 1999, “Smooth” won three Grammy awards including Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals (Santana’s album Supernatural went on to win nine Grammy awards, including Album of the Year).

In addition to his four albums with Matchbox Twenty, Thomas has two solo albums:

Something To Be (2009, which peaked at number one in Billboard’s 200 chart, with the single “Lonely No More peaking at number six in the Hot 100 chart) and Cradelsong (2009) which peaked at number three in the Top 200 chart.
