Honoring one of the most prolific artists and producers in hip-hop history, James “J Dilla” Yancey, comes Dilla Day. Since 2016 rappers, beat-makers, and singers from all around San Antonio have come together to honor the late producer’s life and legacy with respective sets. This year’s lineup includes MC2, Spy MC & Da Band, Apaso, Intre, AMEA, Mad One, Tone Royal, Apas, Alvin Jae aka Tuxedo Blakk, Raw the Kat & Cashmo, JL, Royal King Minus with producer intermissions from Jknodic, Mikey Strange, Clematis, Bomb Shelter Crew
and shots Dupre. For a quick look at what San Antonio has to offer on the hip-hop side of things, this is sort of the perfect show for that. The show is free, but they are accepting donations to go towards the James Yancey Foundation, a non-profit charitable institution that helps fund the development of music in the inner city and provide scholarships to students
enrolled at schools.
