For those unfamiliar with the San Antonio Cocktail Conference (SACC), it's a week of cocktail-centric parties, tasting experiences and unique events that give back to the community.

And it's already off to a roaring start. The celebration opened Monday, January 14, and runs through Sunday, January 20.

Since its inception, SACC, presented by Houston Street Charities, has donated 100 percent of event proceeds — totalling more than $600,000 — to children's charities.

Now in its eighth year, SACC continues serving up classic events like Wednesday night's Women Shaking it Up, a celebration of the incredible women who help shape San Antonio's bartending and culinary communities. New experiences added this year include Thursday's Come and Taste It, which celebrates all things Texas, along with cocktails, spirits, bites and music. If you're looking to attend individual events or simply try some new drinks, check out the available seminars and tastings.

"If someone's never been to the cocktail conference before, I don't think they can even begin to understand the depth and breadth of the events," said Cathy Siegel, executive director of Houston Street Charities. "It's a huge festival, but it's done in such a way that you don't feel you're not getting a personal, one-on-one experience."

Adds Siegel: “This year, there are 30 percent more seminars, the parties are bigger, the activations are bigger and they’re just growing the [conference] in a way that brands are devoting even more attention to the way they’re making it splashy and fun.”

If it sounds like your kind of party, be sure to grab individual tickets or SACC passes before you head out. Visit SACC's website to learn more or purchase a pass to guarantee entry.
