The Houston Fire Department made a San Antonio boy an honorary firefighter as he battles cancer, according to the HFD Facebook page.

KSAT identified the boy as 13-year-old Damon Billeck. Reports say that Billeck is fighting bone cancer for the third time in less than four years.

The Facebook post says Damon was made an honorary firefighter by the San Antonio Fire Department, so they figured they'd do the same while he's undergoing treatment in Houston.

Crew members from HFD Station 33 visited MD Anderson Cancer Center earlier this week to visit Damon and let him know the good news. The Facebook post said the crew also visited other children fighting cancer.
