With such a wide-reaching (and sometimes undefined) genre such as Americana, we've set up two stages for this Music Awards Showcase. At Alamo Ice House, Flyaway tips off at 10 p.m. Led by songwriter Vanessa Lynn, the six-piece band combines western themes with upbeat guitar pop. At 11 p.m., National Standard takes over with fast bluegrass rhythms and an old school, hillbilly feel. Bobby G and The Drive wraps up at midnight with electric and overdriven Americana, set somewhere between the warmth of a backyard stage and anthemic rock.
Over at Tycoon Flats, Barefax will act as house band for the entire evening. Led by guitarist Bear Grammar, Barefax features Christ Cortisso, Jay Martinez and John Ramsey in a blues-rock swing.
